Open day or assessment day — which one are you going to?
An open day is a walk-in. You turn up with a CV, a passport photo and a full-length photo, hand them in, and most people are cut in the first hour. Emirates and Qatar Airways both run them, in dozens of cities a year.
An assessment day is invitation-only. You applied online, you passed the screening, and you were emailed a slot. The day is longer, the group exercises are the core of it, and the cut rate is lower because the screening already happened.
A recruitment event is how the newer carriers hire. Riyadh Air posts a separate vacancy for each city it visits. You apply to that posting, not to a general vacancy, and when the event is over the posting closes.
What you bring, how early you arrive and what you say in the first thirty seconds are different in each case. Check which airlines you are eligible for before you spend money on travel.
